Viva Mexico! Celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day with this spicy paloma cocktail.

Traditionally a classic paloma is very quick and simple to make. You salt the rim of your glass, pour your favorite tequila and top it with Squirt soda, and lime, but today is a special day, so we will dress up this drink and make it a bit spicy.

The tequila you use is up to you; however, I would recommend you don’t use bottom shelf. This cocktail is not a punishment. We want you to enjoy it! Speaking of punishments, don’t go crazy on the chilis either. Use a few slices per drink and use a muddler to infuse the tequila. I used serrano pepper, but you can also use jalapenos.

If you are unable to find the Fever Tree grapefruit mixer, then go ahead and use the squirt. It will still be delicious with the mulled fruit in it.

I hope this drink has you screaming Viva Mexico! Mexico is in my heart today and always, and although I don’t live there anymore, today I will raise my glass and cheer for its beauty. Cheers!
