When I was little, paper wands were pretty popular. I loved getting them in party favors or as a prize at a fair.
I am not sure when or why they went out of style. While browsing online for them, I only found one option on Amazon. On Pinterest, I didn’t find any! So, either they go by a different name or people forgot about them. Oh, no!
Paper wands are so fun! Plus, they are easy to make. You roll paper on a stick, and then you wave it around to see how far the paper goes out.
The possibilities are endless with this craft because you can make them in any pattern to match a party theme or for any holiday. I usually find my paper designs on Etsy, but this time I found the perfect paper pattern on Canva.

Rainbow paper wands
Here are the instructions to make one rainbow paper wand. I like to use three pieces of paper for each wand. You can get away with two sheets, but it’s not as fun.
Download and print 2-3 sheets of the rainbow paper pattern.
Use a paper trimmer to cut the paper in half at 4.25 inches.
Then, use magic tape to attach the strips of paper. I added some lines to guide you. You want to keep the sheets as straight as possible. Add tape to the front and back of each seem.
Next, place some magic tape at the edge of the rainbow strip. After that, place the silver straw on and secure it to the paper. Begin rolling the paper. You want it to be tight and straight.
Finally, trim the edge of the rainbow wand with an edger scissor and secure it with washi tape. Resist the temptation to play with it right away, give the paper some time to curl. Put the washi tape back on when you finish playing with it so that it can keep its shape.
