Quick and easy Easter bonnet headband

I am not sure if people still make these, but I have always wanted to make an Easter bonnet. We are still quarantined, so my resources are limited, but I found enough materials at home to give it a shot. Feel free to substitute any materials with whatever you have at home
Some bonnets are super huge and over the top. I find them cute and amusing, but I am still not brave enough to attempt that. I wanted my daughter’s Easter bonnet to be more subtle, if you can call it that, considering she is wearing eggs on her head. LOL
Materials
- Foam board
- Craft knife
- Dried moss sheet
- Hot glue gun
- Skewer
- 1 large peony
- 2 medium flowers
- Foam Easter eggs
- 1 pipe cleaner
- 1 head band
Instructions
- Trace a 7-inch circle into a piece of cardboard, then use the craft knife to cut it.
- Next, Adhere the dried moss to the cardboard with the hot glue. Some dried moss sheets come with adhesive, so you can use that instead. Wrap the sheet of moss around the cardboard to hide the edges.
- Now, use the skewer to poke two holes (slightly off-centered) on the cardboard and fish the pipe cleaner thru, then slide the headband on the bottom side and tighten the pipe cleaner to secure the headband in place. The part you twist should be on the top of the bonnet; that way, you hide the pipe cleaner and also avoid poking your self in the head.
- Glue the large flower first, then the medium flowers, and the eggs last.
- Finally, adjust the bonnet piece, so that it sits slightly on the side of the head and not on top.
