The decoration for this Father’s Day outdoor bbq party consists mainly of meat, meat, and more meat. There is an occasional picture of a vegetable see if you can find it.

This Father’s Day I picked the place, and my husband chose the theme. He loves to cook, so we gather our grilling gear, and headed out to Mt. Charleston, NV to have an outdoor bbq party.

Invite

Let’s start with the invitation. We thought it would be more special if we invited all the Fathers in the family. This invite is from Evite.

Decor

When it comes to outdoor parties, I think less is more. I love the simple look of the picnic tables, so instead of covering them, I dressed them up with some greenery I purchased from my local flower wholesale shop. All the platers are natural wood, and the plates and cutlery are all environmentally friendly too.

On each picnic table, I placed a board game, more greenery, a napkin holder, and to help keep the little critters away on each table, I put a small canvas bag filled with a few cotton balls that have lavender essential oil drops.

Outdoor BBQ

Like I said above, the decor for this party is mainly the food. Cookbooks by Francis Mallmann inspire this Argentine Asado The pears pictured below are wrapped in prosciutto and then grilled. They are my favorite appetizers, and you can find the recipe for them and other fantastic grilling techniques and recipes in this book.

Another way of keeping the critters away and the snacks fresh is by putting snacks in small mason jars. The little jars look super cute, and you can make them a few days ahead. Plus, your guest can take a few snacks on their nature walk.

Log cake

This delicious chocolate cake with salted caramel buttercream and salted caramel filling is from sugarhero.com are very detailed. Here is the recipe.

Don’t forget to buy the saw cake knife to go with it. ?

Finally, here is a picture of our hand wash station. Every time we go outdoors, I like to keep a caddy with a few essentials like trash bags, bug repellent, sunblock, hand wipes, toilet paper, and paper towels.

If you are going to be doing a lot of cooking, bring clean water from home in a large container and biodegradable hand soap.
