Epsom salt relaxes tired muscles and reduces inflammation. I have been using plain Epsom salt for a while but on my last trip to Target. I found this Pink Himalayan Epsom Salt infused with bergamot and sweet orange. It is so pretty that I decided to make little exfoliating hearts. I keep mine in the kitchen to use after I washed dishes.
Here is what you need to make your own batch;
- Heart Mold
- 1 Cup Pink Himalayan Salt
- 1 oz Coconut Oil
- 2 oz Soap Base
First, place the salt in a mixing bowl.
Next, melt the coconut oil and soap base on the stove over low heat. Melting the ingredients on the stove allows you to keep a close eye on your ingredients. You can use the microwave if you prefer.
I should note, that I tried making the salt scrub hearts without the soap base and they didn’t solidify. So, I ran to the nearest craft store and bought a small block.
Then, pour the coconut oil and soap base over the Epsom salt. Mix with a wooden spoon until well combined. If you want to use your hands, then wear gloves, it’s not time to exfoliate yet.
Now, use a small spoon to fill each heart on the mold. Press with your finger to compress. If there are too many gaps, then the hearts will crumble. Also, I used a plastic mold that I already had, I
Leave the mold at room temperature until it is firm or place in the freezer for 10 minutes if you are impatient as I am. If you are even more impatient, then place the Pink Himalayan scrub in a plastic jar.
Finally, Pop the hearts out of the mold and use them to exfoliate your hands and arms, Enjoy soft and glowing skin.
If you feel discomfort in any way, don’t use them
I hope you get to make this for you or a loved one. These Pink Himalayan Scrub Hearts make great gifts too.
