Welcome happy campers! Here are some menu and decor ideas to throw a camp party.
To recreate this camp party, first head outdoors – to your shed. Odds are you have plenty of decorations inside your holiday and camping gear. Ha!
Entertainment
As much as kids love running wild at parties, I have also know that they enjoy playing games and winning prices. So, I always try to have at least 3 games in all my kid parties. I also think it is fun if the games and prizes match the theme of the party. So, here are some game ideas that work for a camp party.Games
- Tug-O-War: All ages enjoy this game and all you need is a rope to play.
- Scavenger Hunt: Hide nature objects around your party and have your guests look for them.
- Ax Throwing: Let me clarify, encourage your guest to throw plastic or foam axes into a box or target.
- Pinata: Always a favorite.
- Knots: with thin rope, teach the kids to make knots.
- Hike: Maybe this is not a game, but if you are hosting your party outdoors, then go and take a hike. Group hikes are fun and memorable. Have a guide to point out interesting stuff.

Favors
I am in love with the bandana party favors seen all over Pinterest. If you plan to give out big or a bunch of party favors, then go with the bandanas, but if you want a smaller favors, then here is another option; First cut a large piece of felt fabric into 12 x 12 inch pieces. Wrap a few small toys and candy into a piece of tissue paper. Then, place it on top of the felt sheet, gather all the ends and secure with natural rope.Decor
Backdrop
The backdrop you see here is an artificial pine garland with LED lights. Hang with thumbtacks. If, you are using a pre-lit garland, make sure the lights don’t get hot. Add a few balloons to make it more festive. You can make this Welcome Happy Campers! Sign by using a Cricut cutting machine. Use vinyl material, this will adhere to the wall and can easily be removed after the party. Here is the Stencil.Table
Pick a plaid or checkered pattern for your tablecloth or accents; it will help you decorate the rest of your party with the same color scheme. For this party, I found this black and white checkered tablecloth. Also, keep things simple and natural. I used wooden utensils and paper straws. Decorate the plates with natural or artificial pine needles or pine cones.Tent
