Our interpretation of Buddy the Elf Coffee
If you share our affinity for elf culture, make this coffee cocktail recipe. We believe Buddy the Elf would approve of this delicious coffee.
The Elf movie is hands down a Christmas favorite in our home. If you are not familiar with this movie, please stop reading and go watch it! I promise it will not disappoint.
In the movie, you will find many references to coffee and Buddy the Elf struggles with the taste of plain black coffee until at some point he finds he can add syrup to it. I relate to this because I love sweet coffee.
Candy canes are one of the four food groups, according to Buddy, so in his honor, we made this coffee cocktail with candy cane syrup, Kahlua, and fresh whipped cream.
Homemade Candy Cane Syrup

Instructions
- Break candy canes into pieces and to pot with one cup of water.
- Bring water to a boil and stir regularly as candy canes dissolve into water. When fully dissolved, remove from heat and let cool.
- That's it! It's super easy. You can now add this syrup to your hot chocolate, coffee, or cocktails! It's the perfect addition to make your favorite drink feel like Christmas!
