Beautiful Leather Bookmarks for Cookbooks

This week I made these beautiful leather bookmarks for my cookbooks. I made them with the hope that I can be more organized with my meal planning.

Having the kids at home doing distance learning means that I am the teacher and the lunch lady. My kids are eating machines, and they are always looking for snacks. If you ask them what their favorite part of the day is, they will probably tell you it is snack time (or dessert time!).

The weekdays go fast, so I like to take some time on Sunday or Monday to plan my meals and snacks for the week. These leather bookmarks are engraved with the week’s days and some specific meal options, such as appetizer, lunch, or salad.

I made these leather bookmarks with my Cricut Maker. If you have one, then all you need to do is follow the link, engrave, and cut. You can print these on cardstock as well, but I figured the leather would be easier to keep clean, and they will last longer.

Instructions

  1. Open the project link. This link will take you to the Cricut Design Space.
  2. Select the Make It button.
  3. Place the leather sheet on the strong grip mat and select the continue button.
  4. Follow the directions on Design Space. You will need to load the engraving tip first and then load the deep cut tip.
  5. Once the machine is done, use a craft knife to cut any of the leather fabric that the machine might have missed. It won’t be much.
  6. Finally, Use small scissors to trim the edges of the leather.
  7. Done! You are ready to plan your weekly meals.

I hope you find this project easy and helpful. We are all trying to juggle a lot these days. I will continue to share projects that make my life easier. Follow me on Pinterest or Instagram for more ideas or stick around and check out the DIY page.
