These candy corn-scented witch’s cauldron bath bombs are super easy to make. You don’t have to fuss around with using a mold. The little cauldron is the perfect vessel.

This year we informed our kids (6 & 4) that we weren’t going to go out trick-or-treating. I was bracing myself for them to start crying. Surprisingly, they didn’t mind, and they informed me that they had a bunch of fun ideas planned to do in our backyard.

I realize now, that as long as they get to dress up and get candy. They don’t care who gives it to them. LOL. I plan to give them candy; however, I am also thinking of candy-free alternatives, and these cauldron bath bombs are perfect for Halloween.

The cauldron bath bomb is not my idea, but the recipe is mine. Sometimes, bath bombs can be too harsh on the skin. I know my kids can tolerate my recipe and I hope is good for you too.

This mixture bubbles, toils, and fizzes without trouble. There are not too many ingredients in it. Plus, the candy corn scent add-on is awesome, if I do say so myself. Don’t forget to add a small toy inside. I put eyeballs in some and little bones in the rest.

Also, you don’t have to dump these cauldrons in the bath. Cover an area and have your kids pour water inside. They fizzle a lot and are fun to watch.

This recipe yields 5 small cauldrons. However, I have a different set of “small” cauldrons that are slightly bigger. If you happen to get those, then the recipe will only yield 4.

Instructions

  • Combine baking soda, citric acid, and corn starch in a large mixing bowl.
  • On a separate bowl, combine coconut oil, bubble bath, fragrance oil, and soap dye. Add to dry ingredients.
  • Once you have completely mixed the dry and wet ingredients, spray the mixture with witch hazel. Do 5 sprays at a time and stop when the mixture clumps up when you squeeze it in your hand.
I use a small spray bottle and I do about 40-50 sprays. If your spray bottle is bigger you might need to do less.
  • Fill in each cauldron and don't forget to place a small toy inside. Wipe the outside of the cauldron and you are done!
